Specialization of the regional economy
Kyzylorda region is an agrarian-industrial region. The region has significant economic potential and natural resources. The oil and gas industry, the uranium industry and the construction industry is developing in the region. Before if the industrial share as a whole was GRP is 3%, then it is 46.8% to date. The region is traditionally in the lead in rice growing - the region produces 90% of the rice produced in the republic.
In 2014, oil companies produced the order of 9,919.8 thousand tons of oil and 1476.3 million cubic meters of gas.
They were put into operation within the framework of the 1-Five-Year Plan 2010-2014. SPFIID projects:
- gas-turbine plant at the Kumkol field
- production of associated petroleum gas utilization at the Kenlyk field, which started producing stable gasoline.
In the sector of the non-primary sector, the production of iodized edible salt, polyethylene pipes and ferro-concrete products is stable.
Today the work is under way on bringing the necessary infrastructure to the industrial zone in Kyzylorda city.
The "Investment Fund of Kazakhstan" together with the American company "Steward Engineers" begins the construction of a glass factory.
With the participation of the Government, two large infrastructure projects have practically been completed: the construction of the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas trunkline (200.0) and the Western Europe-Western China highway (163.5) with the total cost of KZT 363.5 billion, investments has significantly decreased.
Currently, work is under way to create roadside service facilities along the international highway "Western Europe - Western China".
